BrownGirlBytes started as an instagram account and dream of a blog when things were very tough for me. I was struggling with my weight, eating unhealthy and in the worst place when it came to loving my body. After years of fad dieting, it became very clear to me that the solution needed to be a complete overhaul of my relationship with food.
I could no longer yo-yo diet or get by doing Whole30 every few months to loose weight. I needed to understand and heal my food trauma. It was not just about cooking and making “healthy” food but I had to understand why I had formed the habits I did and completely re-imagine my life when it came to food.
Loving food has always come naturally to me. My earliest memories are around the family kitchen and dinner table making food memories. It is time to tie my love of food to the ability to love and take care of my body. That is the journey I am currently on and would love for you to join me!
What you can expect is recipes, hacks, cultural and historical perspectives , to food stories and facts around nutrition. My goal is to share my journey and lifestyle as I redefine my relationship with being healthy.
